The day after the Best Night Ever Stacia, Marthe, Brandon, Mitch and his friend Alex , and I went to Monaco.
We had originally planned to visit the Palace in Monaco but learned that
it was closed to the public after trudging up the huge incline leading to it. We did not end up being disappointed however because there were cannon sculpture works in front of and across from the palace entrance (which I was obsessed with) and the walk leading to the Oceanographic Museum (our second planned stop) was scenic.
Once we got to our destination Alex and I broke off from the others because I had no interest in visiting that specific museum and he was up for exploring the immediate surrounding while the others conducted their museum visit.
During our exploration we found our way down to la Plage du Solarium. I imagine that people probably head there to soak in the sun in the warmer months but since it’s late November there is not a soul at this particular spot.
What I truly enjoyed was sitting on the steps that led to the water and having my ears be bathed in the powerful sound of the crashing waves. The energy there was so electric. It felt as if I were tuning into the power, the heart of the sea. The energy of the waves was resonating so clearly with me all my worries melted away and I felt completely at peace.
Once we moved on from the sea we continued our exploration before heading back towards the Oceanographic Museum. I went into the gardens beside the museum which was absolutely marvelous. Calm, peaceful, beautiful, inspiring, a moment of Zen.
When the museum goers completed their visit we all headed towards the central area where the casinos were located headed into one and then went into the mall.
The mall at this time was decked out for the holiday season and it was an experience in itself being in the mall at this time of the year. As soon as we entered the mall our eyes were greeted by the splendidly decorated central area of the mall. It was good to finally see it filled with people.
